COVID-19 - Our services are maintained

Within the context of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Ville de Montréal support network for businesses continues to act as the reference for Montréal SMEs. Since March 2020, PME MTL has been administering programs and the granting of financial assistance deployed by the various levels of government.

We would like to remind you that, regardless of the phase of your business project, you can always count on the support of PME MTL. In this section, you will find the emergency measures administered by the PME MTL network for the Montréal territory.

Emergency Assistance for Small and Medium-Sized Businesses

The Quebec government’s Emergency Assistance for SMEs will support eligible companies experiencing financial difficulties as a result of the COVID-19 crisis and who require working capital of less than $50,000.

Financial assistance

  • Loans, up to a maximum of $50,000, at an interest rate of 3%

Businesses Located in a Red Zone and Ordered to Close

The period for submitting applications for financial assistance under the AERAM section has ended, since the applications had to be received not later than four weeks after the resumption of operations by the businesses covered by a closure order. Requests for increased financial assistance can be submitted not later than four weeks after the health emergency is lifted buy the Quebec government.

Grants to Support Montreal’s Retailers

The extraordinary circumstances created by the pandemic has led nonessential shops to close down.The Retail businesses consolidation due to COVID-19 program is to assist businesses with projects to consolidate or resume activities in the wake of changes brought about by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Financial assistance

  • A non-repayable contribution up to a maximum of $10,000 that may not exceed 75% of the total cost of the business project

Grants to support Montréal’s Social Economy  

To support social economy enterprises affected by COVID-19, the city of Montréal is announcing reduced eligibility conditions for the Social Economy Development Fund. As a result, enterprises and organizations seeking support will have until December 31, 2021, to submit an application for funding.

Financial assistance

  • A non-repayable contribution between $5,000 and $50,000 for the enterprise or organization

The City of Montréal is preoccupied by the economic impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on its businesses. Therefore, a series of tools and economic measures have been put in place to support the community.

  • All of our employees who can work from home are encouraged to do so;
  • All client, partner and visitor meetings will happen through phone or videoconference;
