5 years of support for Montréal entrepreneurship

Context

Every year, PME MTL organizes an event to celebrate the success of Montréal entrepreneurs. This annual event helps strengthen ties within our entrepreneurial community.

Due to restrictions imposed on large gatherings, we are currently reviewing the format of our annual event. This situation has made us even more determined to shine a spotlight on Montréal entrepreneurs since they are now, more than ever, on the front lines of our City’s transformation.

The last few months have been very hard on businesses and especially on those operating in the creative and cultural industries. To help support and promote these businesses, PME MTL is launching a call for expressions of interest to initiate a movement that will truly captivate the hearts of Montréal entrepreneurs.

Let’s celebrate the 5^th anniversary of the PME MTL network

In 2020, PME MTL, the City of Montréal's business support network, marks its fifth year of operation. Putting the know-how of our creative and cultural industries front and center is the most relevant way for us to celebrate these 5 years in an innovative and unifying way.

The initiative can take the form of a one-off or recurring event or a creative project with digital and/or public execution.

Proposals must therefore be built around this theme: 5 years of support for Montréal entrepreneurship. You are only limited by your imagination and the budget!

Objectives of the call for expressions of interest

This call for expressions of interest is a preliminary step before we launch the call for projects, in which selected companies will be asked to present their concept.

Terms of participation and selection criteria

Proposals will be examined on the basis of the following criteria:

• Company with head office located in Montréal
• Proposal’s demonstration of interest in, and adherence to, the theme: 5 years of support for Montréal entrepreneurship
• Motivational potential and originality of the concept
• Elements of joining and participation by the entrepreneurial ecosystem and the public related to the theme
• Potential for project implementation
• Team composition: Profiles of the project promoters, complementarity of the team and production capacity for bringing the project to completion
• Consideration of the evolving public health environment

Budget

A budget envelope of up to $50,000 is allocated for the project. The selected company will be responsible for the concept through to the deliverable, including subcontracting, if applicable.

Timeline

• July 20 to August 9: Call for expressions of interest and receipt of applications
• Week of August 10: Selection of companies that will receive the call for projects
• Week of August 17: Selected companies are contacted
• August 24 to September 13: Call for projects
• Week of September 14: Presentation of projects and project selection
• Project launch: End of October
