TechPreneur: finale of the contest

TechPreneur Contest: supporting the technology leaders of tomorrow  

At the end of 2021, PME MTL Centre-Ouest launched the TechPreneur entrepreneurial contest to encourage the technology leaders of tomorrow. A $30,000 grant and several prizes will be awarded to a high-potential young technology company to support it in its growth challenges while continuing to enrich the Technoparc Montréal ecosystem: set-up grant, strategic advice and mentoring, digital transformation training, etc.  

This competition, organized in collaboration with the Ville de Montréal, Desjardins, the Centre d'expertise industrielle de Montréal and the Réseau Mentorat Montréal, was designed for technology companies that had been in existence for five years or less and wanted to set up in the Technoparc Montréal territory.   

After receiving nearly 20 applications, the jury members selected the five companies that stood out the most for their technology, ambitions and potential.  

On March 30, 2022, the grand finale of the TechPreneur contest took place in the Ville de Montréal's business centres, located on the Technoparc Montréal territory, before the members of the jury.

Gomove, the future delivered today

Gomove is an application that has the solution with an on-demand delivery service. The company wants to revolutionize the transportation of heavy items and goods in the city and thus connects individuals with transporters to move furniture, appliances and heavy items, anytime, and at a lower price.

Nurau, the first social network dedicated to well-being  

With the lifting of health restrictions, we all hope to finally be out of the pandemic soon. However, COVID-19 has had an impact on the mental health of Quebecers, and the numbers are increasing.  

Nurau seeks to prevent rather than cure with its social network dedicated to well-being. Basically, Nurau is an application offered to companies as a wellness program for their employees in order to create healthier corporate environments but also to reduce the number of health insurance claims related to mental health.   

Through Nurau, employees of participating companies have access to a social network that allows them to talk with mental health experts and get tips on how to feel better, day to day.

Precare, a digital guide for patients  

When we experience health problems, doctor's appointments are often short and we don't always have time to ask all our questions. But at the same time, we can find all kinds of information, sometimes conflicting, online.  

Precare is an app that helps healthcare professionals better guide their patients in their healthcare journey. The company provides patients with information, advice and videos according to their situation.

Founded in 2018, Precare aims to update the approach to patient education and provide up-to-date information while saving physicians time.

VitalTracer, a doctor on your wrist  

What if capturing our vital signs in real time could save lives?  

VitalTracer has created two smart devices – the VT-Watch and the VT-Patch – that use biomedical sensors to continuously detect a patient's vital signs, such as blood pressure, heart rate, respiratory rate and body temperature. These are then stored in a secure cloud environment, allowing the patient to share them with the healthcare professional following them.
