The technology industry is booming in Québec and has grown even more with the pandemic and the widespread need to accelerate digital transformation. It is therefore an in-demand sector in which innovation is needed to maintain local know-how and remain competitive.
In light of these observations, PME MTL launched the TechPreneur entrepreneurial contest at the Technoparc Montréal last November, in collaboration with the Ville de Montréal, Desjardins, the Centre d’expertise industrielle de Montréal (CEI MTL) (CEI MTL) and the Réseau Mentorat Montréal. A total of $45,000 will be awarded in the form of grants and prizes to support a high-potential young technology company in its development efforts while contributing to the Technoparc Montréal ecosystem.
With remote work and the digital shift, technologies are now essential to our economy. In the context of economic recovery, we intend, through this contest, to encourage the next generation of entrepreneurs in one of the fastest growing industries in Québec.
- Marc-André Perron, Executive Director, PME MTL Centre-Ouest.
A vibrant ecosystem to accelerate business growth
Thanks to the presence of key Québec and international players in the technology industry, the Technoparc Montréal plays a leading role in the development of this type of business. The winner of the TechPreneur contest will therefore be able to operate in a vibrant ecosystem and have access to the tools necessary to develop sustainably.
Orthogone Technologies, a company specializing in software development and the design of innovative products for 14 years, chose the Technoparc Montréal last September for all the benefits offered by this community.
Being part of the Technoparc community is consistent with our culture of innovation rooted in a spirit of collaboration and communication. This scientific campus is the ideal place to pursue our growth and offer a quality work space to our employees.
- Luc Leblanc, President and CEO, Orthogone Technologies.
With a continuous presence on the site, PME MTL helps increase the wealth of the community by supporting innovation. Access to financing, coaching, events, training, recruitment support, visibility: various initiatives and activities are regularly organized for the companies of the Technoparc Montréal. PME MTL's actions focus on the innovative capabilities of the area's businesses and on providing support on several levels in order to raise the profile of the Technoparc Montréal as a whole and support the growth of its residents.
