Description
Terry brings a wealth of experience and a passion for community development to her role as a Social Economy Commissioner. With a career rooted in supporting vulnerable populations, she began as a social services worker in the mental health field, dedicating 15 years to a non-profit organization in the West Island.
Her entrepreneurial spirit led her to run her own retail business before joining PME MTL Ouest-de-l'Île, first as a career counselor in the Placement en emploi program and then as a local development counselor. There, she guided businesses in addressing HR challenges and helped individuals find meaningful employment opportunities and worked on different structural projects on the territory.
Her commitment to social impact extends beyond her professional life; she served on the board of a social economy enterprise for 8 years, including 3 as president, where she played a key role in advancing programs that provide culinary and administrative training to those facing employment barriers.
Now, as a Social Economy Commissioner, she combines her extensive experience to support non-profits and co-operatives at every stage of their journey. From business planning and securing financing to improving governance and managing growth, Terry is dedicated to helping organizations thrive and make a lasting impact.
