Practical support for businesses in a challenging economic climate
PME MTL Centre-Ouest is releasing today the results of its 2025 fiscal year, which was marked by sustained support for businesses in a rapidly changing economic environment. Faced with challenges related to costs, competition, and the need to adapt business models, the organization focused its efforts on concrete actions that could be directly implemented on the ground.
In 2025, 626 businesses received support and 58 projects were funded, with a total of $5.92 million authorized, contributing to the creation and retention of 921 jobs in the territory.
“The year 2025 unfolded against a backdrop of economic uncertainty, where rising costs, supply chain pressures, and shifting market conditions made business decisions more complex. “In this challenging environment, the importance of structured support, grounded in real-world realities, has become more critical than ever,” emphasize Marc-André Perron, Executive Director of PME MTL Centre-Ouest, and Cloé Caron, Chair of the Board of Directors.
Interventions grounded in the realities of business
The majority of businesses that received funding in 2025 were in the growth phase, highlighting the need for structured support to consolidate their operations.
Beyond providing funding, PME MTL Centre-Ouest continued to play its role as a local partner by offering support that enabled entrepreneurs to clarify their strategies, make better use of their resources, and adapt their operations to a changing environment.
Initiatives shaping the territory
The Fermes en Ville initiave, launched in 2025, the initiative has mobilized Montreal’s bio-food ecosystem through:
- 3,700 participants
- 113 business networks
- More than 18 participating urban farms, most of which are located within the territory
The competition Je relève le défi vert has also been renewed for a second year, supporting businesses in adopting more sustainable practices and generating tangible results on the ground.
At the same time, the organization has continued its efforts in commercial revitalization, innovation, and local development, in collaboration with numerous partners.
A stronger role in innovation
In 2025, PME MTL Centre-Ouest continued to roll out its innovation services, in particular by helping companies adapt their business models, market their products and services, and diversify their operations.
A new business innovation service has also been established to help SMEs strengthen their competitiveness in an increasingly competitive environment.
Recognition of achievement
In 2025, the organization received the Prix Performance des Fonds locaux de solidarité FTQ, ranking among the top funds in Quebec for the quality of its management and the impact of its investments.
A landmark year for the PME MTL network
