Meet the Angels: Pierre Bourdage

After more than 25 years helping lead strategy, product launches, and growth initiatives for some of the world's most respected healthcare companies, Pierre Bourdage wasn't looking for his next corporate role. Instead, he was looking for a new way to give back to the entrepreneurial community. 

Today, Pierre is one of the founding members of the Anges de l’Ouest Club, where he brings decades of international business experience to entrepreneurs across Montreal’s West Island. 

His career has taken him across North America and Europe, working in the healthcare sector with pharmaceutical companies, medical device manufacturers, generics, biosimilars, and healthcare service organizations. Along the way, he developed expertise in commercial strategy, mergers and acquisitions, product launches, and helping organizations navigate periods of growth and transformation. 

Despite his extensive corporate background, Pierre's motivation for becoming an angel investor is remarkably simple: he wants to help West Island entrepreneurs and businesses prosper. 

Having spent decades building businesses and launching new initiatives, he understands the challenges entrepreneurs face and enjoys helping them navigate the road ahead. 

When evaluating an investment opportunity, Pierre focuses first and foremost on the people behind the business. He looks for founders who demonstrate critical thinking, integrity, and grit—qualities he believes are essential for long-term success. 

His personal philosophy is captured by a quote from management thinker Peter Drucker: “The best way to predict the future is to create it.” 

It is a mindset that aligns closely with the mission of Anges de l’Ouest. The club brings together experienced business leaders and promising entrepreneurs, to foster mentorship, investment, and local economic growth in the West Island. Members like Pierre provide far more than financial support—they offer strategic guidance, practical experience, and valuable professional networks that can help businesses reach the next stage of growth. 

And while Pierre spends plenty of time evaluating opportunities and mentoring founders, he is quick to point out that there is life beyond business. When he's not reviewing business plans or meeting entrepreneurs, you'll likely find him on a golf course - by his own admission, "potentially badly" or enjoying a meal at one of his favorite West Island establishments, Duke & Devine's.
