SIAL Canada 2026: Montreal-based companies at the heart of the bio-food ecosystem
PME MTL Centre-Ouest 5 May 2026
From April 29 to May 1, 2026, the Salon International de l’Alimentation (SIAL) Canada was held in Montreal, bringing together key players in the bio-food industry from across Canada and around the world.
On this occasion, six companies supported by PME MTL, in collaboration with the Ville de Montréal's Service du développement économique, had a booth in the Start-Up Village, a space dedicated to innovative startups.
Local businesses to discover
Here are the six companies in this year’s cohort:

These companies demonstrate the vitality of Montréal’s organic food sector and the diversity of business models currently emerging, ranging from technological innovation to specialized food offerings.
A platform for testing, learning, and connecting
Participating in SIAL offers companies a concrete opportunity to showcase their products to a professional audience, validate their market positioning, establish contacts with distributors and partners, and gain a better understanding of market trends.
In this context, certain companies were also selected to participate in the pitch competition, an additional opportunity to present their projects to a jury and a specialized audience.
On April 30, three companies from the cohort were selected for this initiative:
- Blawnt (tech food)

Ero Strength (Seed)

Ero Strength - OLAOLA (Growth)

Another opportunity to raise their profile and showcase their concept to a jury and a specialized audience.
A landmark event for Montréal’s innovative ecosystem
Beyond the immediate results, SIAL remains a key driver for the development of Montreal’s bio-food sector.
Several companies that have received support in recent years were also in attendance again this year, demonstrating the tangible benefits of this type of support and the evolution of their market positioning.
For example, Nasdrow, a company we supported in 2025, won first prize this year in the Seed category of the pitch competition. The company, led by Victoire Guglieri, stood out for its positioning in the non-alcoholic beverage sector, thanks to an innovative business model and a range of high-quality products.

By making these events more accessible and providing tailored support, PME MTL and the Ville de Montréal are helping to foster business growth and strengthen companies’ ability to compete in a competitive environment.
