Propose one or more sustainable or social actions adapted to your reality and you could receive a grant of up to $5,000.

Why get involved?
1. Personalized support in choosing and carrying out your sustainable projects.
2. Increased visibility for your commitment to your customers and your community.
3. $20,000 in Desjardins* grants to be won:
- Three $5,000 grants for the best projects in each category.
- Ten $500 participation grants drawn from among all participating businesses.
- An annual membership to Synergie Montréal ($200 value) to promote the circular economy in your company.

Three participation categories
Your project will be evaluated according to your type of business:
- Retail and services
- Restaurants
- Small urban factories
Examples of accepted actions
Waste reduction
- Reuse of packaging or other materials
- Set up deposit, bulk or reuse systems with other stores
Responsible sourcing
- Choice of local or certified sustainable suppliers
- Adoption of a responsible purchasing charter or policy
- Reduction of carbon footprint linked to goods transport
Improvements to premises
- Optimizing lighting or energy efficiency
- Renovating with recycled or sustainable materials
Social initiatives
- Donation program or collaboration with community organizations
- Organization of environmental or educational activities for customers

Eligibility requirements
- Be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident;
- Be incorporated as a company, cooperative or non-profit organization (NPO)
- Have a street-front business (retail, service, restaurant or café) or a small urban factory;
- Be located in the borough of Ahuntsic-Cartierville or Saint-Laurent, or in Town of Mount Royal;
- Be willing to improve its practices;
- Agree to be followed up throughout the project and, if applicable, to share its participation in project
- communications;
- Signal its interest by completing the registration form before August 15.
Ineligible companies and projects
- Businesses belonging to a chain or banner or operating under franchise or license or owned by a Crown corporation;
- Whose main activity is of an erotic, political or religious nature;
- Not complying with applicable municipal, provincial or federal regulations.
- Actions already completed or financed prior to registration.
- Actions related exclusively to regulatory compliance (e.g. mandatory composting).
- Projects of a strictly promotional or event-based nature.
Required documents
- Completed registration form.
- At the end of the contest, participating companies will have to provide tangible proof of the sustainable actions they have implemented within their business (invoices, photos, contracts, etc.).
